This is the work we trained for.

Colorado Concrete Revival completed hands on training with Elite Crete Systems, a manufacturer and industry educator in decorative concrete, concrete restoration, protective sealers and high performance coatings. That training covered surface preparation, restoration, staining, coloring, sealing and protective coating applications, and it is what lets us turn a plain gray slab into a finished surface.

That can mean a stained and sealed patio that looks like natural stone, a colored overlay that hides a decade of damage, or a garage floor coating that wipes clean and shrugs off deicer. Every one of them starts with the same thing: preparation done right, because a decorative finish over a badly prepped slab fails within a year.

What we install

  • Epoxy and polyaspartic garage floor coatings with flake or solid color finishes
  • Decorative overlays with color and texture for patios, walks and entries
  • Acid and water based stains that give concrete a natural stone or earth tone look
  • Integral color and color restoration on faded stamped concrete
  • Protective and anti graffiti coatings for commercial walls and surfaces
  • Clear decorative sealers that bring out color and add UV protection

For outdoor work in Colorado we use products rated for UV and freeze thaw, and for garage floors we favor polyaspartic topcoats that do not yellow in the sun coming through the door.

What a decorative or coating project includes

Whether it is a one car garage in Longmont or a stained patio in Evergreen, the steps are the same.

  • Design and product consultWe talk through the look you want and choose products that will hold up in your location and sun exposure.
  • Repair firstCracks, spalls and pitting are repaired before any decorative work so they do not show through the finish.
  • Mechanical surface prepGrinding or profiling so the overlay, stain or coating bonds to the concrete permanently.
  • Moisture testing on coatingsGarage and interior floors are checked for moisture before a coating goes down, which is the step most failures skip.
  • ApplicationStains, overlays and coatings applied in the right conditions, with the right cure times between coats.
  • Protective topcoatEvery decorative finish gets a sealer or topcoat chosen for UV, traffic and freeze thaw.

Why decorative concrete in Colorado needs the right products

A coating that works in a Midwest garage can yellow, peel or chalk in a Front Range one. High altitude UV, big daily temperature swings and deicer tracked in all winter are hard on finishes, so product selection matters as much as the application.

Our training with Elite Crete Systems covered sealers and high performance coatings specifically, so we choose UV stable topcoats outdoors, flexible repair materials for freeze thaw, and coatings that handle hot tire pickup in a sunny garage.

  • UV stable topcoatsPolyaspartic and UV rated sealers hold their color and clarity where ordinary epoxy yellows.
  • Freeze thaw ratedOutdoor overlays and sealers are chosen to flex with temperature swings instead of cracking.
  • Deicer resistanceCoated garage floors and sealed patios shed magnesium chloride that would otherwise eat into bare concrete.

How a decorative or coating project goes

From a photo and a conversation to a finished, protected surface.

  1. Consult and quote

Send photos and tell us the look you are after. We recommend a system and quote it, with a site visit for larger projects.

  2. Repair and prep

Damage is repaired, the surface is ground or profiled, and floors are moisture tested.

  3. Apply the finish

Stain, overlay or coating goes down in the right conditions with proper cure time between coats.

  4. Topcoat and cure

The protective topcoat is applied and you get exact foot and vehicle cure times.

Decorative concrete and coating questions

The things people ask before they book. If yours is not here, text us a photo and ask.

Epoxy builds thickness and is cost effective as a base coat, but it yellows in sunlight. Polyaspartic is UV stable, cures faster and flexes with temperature, which makes it the better topcoat for a Colorado garage. Many floors use both: epoxy base, polyaspartic top.

Yes. The floor is cleaned, degreased, repaired, ground and moisture tested first. Old stains disappear under a flake or solid color coating, and prep is what makes it last.

Acid stains react with the concrete itself, so every slab comes out a little different, which is the appeal. We do samples on your concrete so you see the real color before committing.

With UV rated products and a sealer refreshed every few years, many years. The two things that shorten it are skipping prep and using products not meant for our sun and freeze thaw, and we do neither.

Usually. A thorough cleaning, color restoration where needed and a UV resistant decorative sealer bring back most of the original look. If the stamped surface is damaged, an overlay can rebuild it.
